Mass. CPCS position opening

February 26, 2016

The Children and Family Law Division (CAFL) of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (the Massachusetts public defender agency) is seeking applicants for staff attorney positions.  Staff attorneys represent children and indigent parents who are parties in care and protection cases (Massachusetts’s version of dependency cases) and in other actions involving state intervention.   Applicants should be committed to serving a culturally diverse, low income population.

CAFL staff attorneys work in a dynamic, supportive, client-focused atmosphere dedicated to zealous advocacy in all phases of litigation.  CAFL staff attorneys are provided with comprehensive training on all aspects of child welfare law and hands-on direct supervision to facilitate their pursuit of the client’s goals.  Candidates must be eligible to practice law  in Massachusetts, either as a member of the Massachusetts bar, as a law student graduate under SJC Rule 3:03, or as an attorney licensed to practice in another state under SJC Rule 3:04.
