Administrative Law Judge positions (DC) – four available

This position is located in the Office of Wage-Hour, Labor Standards Bureau, Department of Employment Services.  The Office of Wage-Hour enforces the wage laws of the District of Columbia applicable to private industry employers.  The enforcement includes the D.C. Minimum Wage Act of 1992 the D.C. Wage Payment and Wage Collection Law, the Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act, the Living Wage Act, the Wage Garnishment Act and the newly enacted Workplace Fraud Amendment Act. The Office of Wage-Hour performs compliance audits of private industry payrolls and computes and collects back wages owed pursuant to the statutes enforced.  The Office of Wage-Hour mediates wage disputes relative to hours worked, wages owed, overtime compensation, etc. The Office of Wage-Hour enforces the Workplace Fraud Amendment Act which assures proper classification of workers to prevent worker misclassification in the construction industry.
