Final Pro Bono Project of the Spring Semester!

April 18, 2011

The Latino Economic Development Corporation’s affordable housing preservation program is a non-profit financed by the D.C. government to educate and organize low-income tenants and homeowners to prevent displacement. The program needs law student volunteers to help with a know-your-rights outreach canvass on Saturday, April 30 from 10AM-1:30PM in the Ivy City and Trinidad neighborhoods of DC. The purpose of this door-to-door canvass is to help members of communities that have experienced high rates of foreclosures understand their rights and options for other housing programs here in DC. Training will be provided and housing counselors and a supervising attorney will be on hand to answer questions. Transportation from the Metro will also be provided.

If you are interested, sign up on the Pro Bono at CUA Law TWEN page and you will be put you in contact with the project coordinator.
