The South Asian Law Students Association Presents  — The Role of Civil Society in Strengthening Rule of Law in Post-Conflict Nepal & Liberia: A Roundtable Discussion with Professor Shelby Quast & Mr. Yogendra Paneru, Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Room 220 ׀ 3:00-4:00 PM

 Professor Shelby Quast: Professor of Law & Director of the U.S. office of the International Legal Assistance Consortium. In addition to working extensively with women’s civil society groups in Liberia, Professor Quast has over 20 years of experience working internationally in activities such as legal and judicial reform, negotiating treaties and agreements and interpreting treaties and international human rights standards.

 Mr. Yogendra Paneru: Civil society activist and PhD candidate in Conflict Analysis & Resolution at Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Paneru has worked for over 12 years with civil society in Nepal. In addition to working in Rwanda on a civil society peace building project and in Bangladesh, Mr. Paneru has experience in social development, gender analysis, livelihoods support and community project management.
