Externship – Dept. of Labor’s Civil Rights Ctr.

The Department of Labor’s Civil Rights Center is seeking Spring Externs.  The Civil Rights Center (CRC) develops, administers and enforces Departmental policies, practices, and procedures under Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 188 of WIA; the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Age Discrimination Act of 1975; the Equal Pay Act; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); the ADA Amendments Act of 2008; and related statutes and Executive Orders prohibiting discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.  Interns will engage in practical application of the above laws and assist in all aspects of the discrimination process, including investigating discrimination complaints, writing final agency decisions, and engaging in other miscellaneous activities.
